Introducing Team Power Venture

Hello everybody, over the next 10 weeks Joe Mahler, Lionell Fisher, Matt Joyce, and I will be developing a scene in zBrush. The four of us have already hammered out an initial concept as well as roles for us to fill. Finally we have already set milestones for the term.

The lead in:

In the frozen arctic region of Siberia an Inuit tribe has spoke of rumors of lost treasures. To discover if these rumors are true, they send out their most powerful warrior. After traveling for what seems like weeks he stumbles upon a lost cavern. Inside the cavern rested a large statue of the fabled Yeti beast-god. No doubt this was the entrance to the lost temple so surely there must be an immeasurable amount of treasure hidden within.

The walkway to the door was lain with multiple epitaphs depicting some sort of great battle. As he approaches the statue the torches lining the walkway lightup revealing sheets of ice covering the stone walls, and the large statue dominating the room. The light also revealed sharp and deadly stalagmites hanging from the ceiling and could possibly fall and kill him at any time. But there was also the added possibility that there could be a deadly threat lurking elsewhere.

Getting closer to the statue the Inuit warrior turns in surprise as the guardian yeti of this temple. What ensues is a fierce battle of two powerful beings.

The Project: it is here that we can reveal a moment in their struggle for dominance. Our researchers are hard at work, creating concepts from the remains they have discovered. Over time we will be presenting what he believe to be an accurate zBrush model of this encounter.

The plan:

10/21: Matt & Lance plan on having several concepts and narrowed down to the best choice.
Joe & Lionell: several character sketches made and narrowed down to the best chocies.

10/28: Matt & Lance: Each have a better detailed image of the environment.
Joe & Lionell: Same as Matt & Lance, just with characters (model sheets and what not.)

Further milestones will be laid out at a later time.

Also, a preliminary asset list will be uploaded soon to box.net. This list involves both objects and textures for the environment As always we will be adding direct links to viewable files for everyone to check out. We look forward to revealing our project in the near future.
